Lancelot Selman Musings is a collection of contemplations about history, culture, policies, events and happenings in Caribbean countries, particularly Trinidad and Tobago where he was born, bred and built his career at a multiplicity of Senior and Executive levels.
About the Founder of LS Musings
Mr. Lancelot Selman is a graduate of Bramshill Police Staff College in the United Kingdom. He is a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police having served upwards of twenty-seven (27) years at Senior and Executive levels in the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service (TTPS). His extensive experience at the regional and international levels is a result of many assignments with the Trinidad and Tobago and CARICOM governments which required active interactions with multilateral organizations including the United Nations, Organization of American States (OAS), and the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering. Mr. Selman was also instrumental in the establishment of the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFATF). He was the first Director of the Trinidad & Tobago Strategic Services Agency (SSA) and also became the President of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) in the year 2000.
He possesses wide experience in the conceptualization, design and functional establishment of security organizations. He introduced VIP Protection and counterterrorism units within the Trinidad & Tobago Police Service. His specialties include the Design and Management of Specialized National Security Organizations. He was appointed by the Conference of Heads of CARICOM, Chairman of the CARICOM Task Force on Crime and Security in 2000 and was later appointed as the Director of the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and Security Programs (IMPACS) whose first assignment was the preparation of the Strategic Security Arrangements for Cricket World Cup 2007. He is a former member of the Airports Authority of Trinidad & Tobago.
Mr. Selman was the Founder and Chairman of a Premier Private Security Company in Trinidad & Tobago which provided services to US and other private international corporations.
